What is the Lucky Girl Library?

When we moved into our 1980s home the floors were heaving, there was no air conditioning, no fridge and the washer and dryer was in front of the toilet. You could have folded laundry while taking your morning constitution. How convenient.
It was also perfect.
After living on sailboats, atop a Land Cruiser and in a yurt I was thrilled to be surrounded by drywall! However, due to our house's age the layout was not ideal. Rooms had been added onto rooms and porches enclosed to create additional space. Upstairs was an odd mix of low ceilings and small, unusable spaces.

After a time, I began to gravitate toward one sliver of the second floor. I added a comfortable chair. Then fun wall paper. Then a desk. It became my little hang out.
very time Spencer would come upstairs to see me cuddled with one of our animals, reading a good book or writing he'd say, "Look at that Lucky Girl." I'd beam at him. I was lucky. I had my own little space the size of most places we had previously considered or
entire home.
For my Birthday, Spencer offered to build me book shelves. I designed the most ridiculous set of shelves and corner cabinetry he'd ever seen. And yet he set to work.
Two months later I had the library of my dreams. I dubbed it the "Lucky Girl Library."

For this blog I'd like to delve into the books that come into the library as well as where I get my inspiration for writing. This isn't a how-to, because honestly, I'm no expert, I'll never be able to tell you how-did. This is simply a spot to gloat about all the romance writers I love, the romance genre in general and other things that make me happy. I sincerely hope you enjoy your time in the Lucky Girl Library.
